I had a very vague sketch (maybe 40% complete) of this track for around 16 years. I recently found my fingers retracing the steps of it and remembered about it again. So as an incentive to finish it, I decided I would dedicate it to my baby daughter, Rowan, as part of her Christmas 2020 present. Having a deadline made it much easier to finish!
When I made the decision to dedicate it to her, this vastly influenced the remainder of the composing process, as she became the entire inspiration for it.
The guitar performance is done in one take. I added some background synth to the track during mastering using omnisphere and keyscape.
The guitar was recorded using Neural DSP Plini, with modulation fx done in post. Performed on a .stranderg* boden standard trem (which was an early xmas present to myself!😬).
